Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Benzina app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Allika Studio OÜ (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

• Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
• The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages
• The time spent on the Application
• The operating system you use on your mobile device
• Device information including device model, manufacturer, screen resolution, iOS version, and unique device identifiers

The Application collects your device's location, which helps the Service Provider determine your approximate geographical location and make use of in the following ways:

Geolocation Services: The Service Provider utilizes location data to provide features such as personalized content, relevant recommendations, and location-based services.

Analytics and Improvements: Aggregated and anonymized location data helps the Service Provider to analyze user behavior, identify trends, and improve the overall performance and functionality of the Application.

Third-Party Services: Periodically, the Service Provider may transmit anonymized location data to external services. These services assist them in enhancing the Application and optimizing their offerings.

Location data is collected only while the Application is actively in use and is not tracked in the background.

The Application uses mathematical algorithms and data modeling to provide its Fuel Price Forecasting feature. This forecast is computed entirely on your device based on historical market trends (sourced from Fuelo) and recent local competitor prices; no personal data or exact user location coordinates are sent to external servers for this feature.

Camera Access: The Application may request access to your device's camera to let you scan fuel price boards instead of entering prices manually. Photos taken for this purpose are processed entirely on your device using an on-device, open-source text recognition engine (Tesseract OCR); they are not uploaded, transmitted to, or stored on the Service Provider's servers or any third-party server, and are discarded immediately after the recognized prices are extracted. Camera access is only used when you actively choose the photo-scanning option.

For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

• Location Data: GPS coordinates used to find nearby fuel stations and calculate distances.
• Account Data: Google account email, display name, profile photo URL, and unique Google identifier collected upon signing in with Google.
• User-Generated Data: Unlocked icon identifiers, promotional codes entered, default fuel type, and selected search radius.
• Price Submissions: When you submit fuel prices, your unique Google identifier and email are linked to the submission for verification and data integrity purposes.
• Price Reports: When you report an incorrect price, your unique Google identifier is temporarily recorded to prevent duplicate reporting and spam. This record is purged once the price is updated or removed.
• Device Data: Device model, manufacturer, operating system version, screen resolution, and unique device identifiers.
• Technical Data: App preferences including theme, language, currency, icon size, and search radius, stored locally on your device.
• Newsletter Data: If you opt in to our newsletter, your email address and display name are stored in our secure database to deliver product updates and news. You may opt out at any time.
• Usage & Interaction Data: Anonymous, aggregated app-usage events (such as which features and filters are used) collected via Google Analytics for Firebase, to help us understand how the Application is used and improve it. This data is not linked to your name or email address.
• Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and app-performance data (such as launch time and network request duration) collected via Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring, to help us detect and fix bugs and slowdowns.

Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service.

The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data:

• Google Sign-In (for account authentication)

• MapLibre (maplibre.org) - open-source map rendering, uses OpenStreetMap map data

• Fuelo (fuelo.net)
• Public Fuel & Wash Web Portals

Text recognition for the camera price-scanning feature runs fully on-device using an open-source OCR engine (Tesseract) and does not involve any third-party service.

Data stored in Google Firebase Firestore and Authentication is located on servers in Warsaw, Poland (europe-central2 region).

Opt-Out and Account Deletion Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it.

Additionally, you have the right to permanently delete your account and personal data at any time through the in-app Account Settings.

If you have already uninstalled the Application or wish to request deletion outside of the Application, you can submit a deletion request via our web form or by contacting us via email at support.benzina@gmail.com.

Upon requesting account deletion, your Google authentication profile, email, name, and profile photo URL will be permanently purged. Any fuel prices you have submitted will remain in our database completely anonymized.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Account data is secured through Google Firebase Authentication and stored in Google Firebase Firestore.
